Today was a wonderful day. My daughter Kari invited me to go with her and Mason to an Alligator Farm. It was in Grand Saline. My brother & family lived in Grand Saline for several years and we had never heard of this place. As we all know I do not have any since of direction. Well, surprise to everyone. I read the map last night, printed it off, and forgot to take it with us today. I was able to remember the main directions and we were able to find it without a glitch. It was a real nice place, very clean. I would consider taking Tony back there some Friday night. If you come and have a steak dinner on Friday night the park is open to you for free. I think Tony would enjoy it.

Last month I entered one challenge. This month I am going to enter as many as I can. That's my goal for the month. Even if I don't win, I just want to get enough confidence to enter. I am trying to get my friend Debbie to enter along with me. So we shall see!Q

Well, Thursday the guy came to lay down my new laminate flooring. I had a dishwasher leak under the dishwasher and so they had to replace my kitchen flooring. When they tore up the laminate and took up the backing. Water!! Water was everywhere. The old kichen rug had kept some of the water off of the plywood, but some of it had gotten wet. So after all the old was removed they decided it was too wet to lay the new floor down. On Friday he came back and checked, and decided it was still too wet. He removed a corner of the plywood and it showed that it was still wet underneath. So just to be on the safe side they are letting it dry out until Monday. We should be good on Monday. I have wanted to work on my challenges some more but I just haven't gotten to yet. I am hoping I get to today. We are going to Mason's baseball practice this morning. We are taking hotdogs, chips, fruit snacks, and waters. They start their district games on July 12th. Go Mud Dogs!

It has been a wonderful holiday. I am so thankful for my freedom. We didn't do a lot of exciting things, but it has been very nice to just hang out at home. Mason came over Saturday and spent the night. We are going to their house this afternoon for burgers & to finish off the fireworks. I entered my 1st challenge last night. It was from Expressionsoffaith.etsy.com. It was a recipe challenge. Since it was my first challenge I thought I should do it on my 1st grandchild & his 1st July 4th. It was a lot of fun. I may not win, but at least I have started and I did enjoy doing it. Now I can't wait for the next one.

We went to Mason's TBall game tonight. They won. It was their last game. They finished in 1st place. They played a great game. I was totally impressed with the other team. Their coach was as good as ours. There was no screaming at the boys. It was just play and enjoy the game. It was a very relaxing game. The other team also had a little boy on their team that suffered from . He couldn't walk alone and could hardly use his hands. He was able to bat. His mom carried him on to the field and the coach helped him stand at the T. He took the bat with one hand and just barely knocked the ball off of the T. He then tossed his bat and his mom would walk him to lst base. He never tried to go past 1st. After 1st he went into the dug out and his mom sat and held him. It was such a moving site. I can not express the appreciation that I felt in my heart. Some for the fact that the Mom was determined to let him play ball, even in 100 degree weather. Some for the fact that the coach was giving him a chance to be like the other kids, and some for his team mates. When he would bump the ball both sides would start cheering and clapping as that sweet mom walked her child all the way to the 1st base. At their teams last outfield the coach let this little guy (Ricky) play catcher. The Coach held him the whole inning. They would try to put the glove on his little cripled hand. The coach would toss the ball ever so gently to him and he would pitch it about 2 ft to our coach. And the smile that would come over that little guys face. I had to fight the tears back. It was so moving. That is what the game of baseball should be about. I was blessed to be able to watch this very special game.

I haven't been on here in almost a month. Where has my time gone? Today I took a digital scrapbook class. I think I am going to enjoy it. A very special friend taught the class. She did an excellent job. I worked on a 2 pg. layout of Mason's field day. I still need to embellish it, but it wasn't that hard. Tomorrow I may play some more. I am excited about Country Scents starting to do the Operation Write Home program. Tuesday should be our 1st official workshop. I already have some cards made. Mason colored them for me a couple of weeks ago while I was at my Stampin Up club. He was so good, and I was so proud of him. He used his best manners.

My friend Debbie R. went with me today. I love spending time with her. I realized today that I think we only lived a few streets a part growing up. It is such a small world.

It has been a wonderful holiday. I am so very thankful for our freedom. It touches my heart when so many people post postive comments about our country, those that have died for our freedom. And those serving our country now. I wish more people would get behind our country and buy American. America is a great place to live. I have no desire to move anywhere else. I don't even wish to visit another country. I know there are some beautiful things & places in other countries. But America is packed with it's own history and beauty.

And on a lighter side, Mason got to spend another night with us. I am taking him to school tomorrow. So, I will have an early day. But, he is worth it. We have enjoyed every minute of our day today with him. I think he must have missed us too. He is still in his extra special affectionate mood. I love this life. Thank you Lord for making it possible.
